There is more news today, so let's get in to it. We have a lot to talk about and not a lot of space to do it, so we have to do it now.
Marwin Gonzalez has been signed by the Boston Red Sox. His contract is a 1-year, $3M deal. He did well with the 2017 World Series-winning Houston Astros, but that fell apart when he signed with the Minnesota Twins, with whom he has battled injuries.
To clear room on the 40-man roster, rumors have swirled that the Red Sox will be trading Michael Chavis, Colten Brewer, Ryan Brasier, Kevin Plawecki, Jonathan Arauz, and Phillips Valdez. While no deals have been confirmed, the lead rumors see Chavis, Brewer, and Plawecki going to the Baltimore Orioles for Rylan Bannon and Heston Kjerstad, and Braiser, Arauz, and Valdez going to the New York Mets for Tim Tebow. Jon Jay has signed a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Angels.
